In this contribution ‘innovation’ refers to technological improvements in trade and industry that result from improvements of products, processes and organisations. Regulations aimed at stimulating such innovations by providing opportunities, under certain conditions, for undertakings to work together belong to competition law. This legal area is at the intersection of public administrative law and private business law.
